Building a Menu

Building a Menu

At Luxe Catering & Events we believe that the heart of your event is centered around you. That is why we believe in customizing your menu to represent the reasons why you are celebrating. If you are getting married, we want to know your story. I listen to the couple explain how they met, who they are, and how they have come to fall in love. I ask if they cook at home? Go out to eat? What are their favorite foods…It is through this process I learn about their palate and style. This information then becomes the building blocks for the menu.

One of my favorite couples of all times, Callie and Aaron were having a back yard reception at their lake house in Clinton. I remember when I first met Callie. As she walked into the room, her unique, bohemian style told me a lot about the kind, free-spirted girl she was. She was light and easy going as she excitedly expressed her interest in having a Mexican Fiesta! Now meet Aaron. He was a clean cut, and conservative as it gets. Every time I saw him he was in a three piece suit. As Callie burst with enthusiasm for her south of the border style cuisine, Aaron had a different vision for the food. He wanted upscale. He wanted steak and seafood. Traditional catered favorites.

I loved how cute these two were together. Their affection for each other would put a smile on even the grumpiest face. They should both have what they wanted. Their relationship worked because of their differences. I listened to both of their desires and created a menu that truly captured each style. We served items like Beef Tenderloin with a Chipotle-Orange Mojo, Garlic Green Beans with Chili and Mint, Shrimp Ceviche with Tomato-Corn Salsa and Avocado, and passed Spicy Blackberry Margaritas. We captured the essence of Callie’s favorites with the upscale flair that Aaron craved. It was a beautiful night filled with friends, family, and love. It was an honor to be a part of that atmosphere!
