The biggest food fad of 2015 for Luxe Catering & Events has been couples requesting breakfast for dinner. And why not? Everyone loves brinner!
The food trend started a few years back when biscuit bars starting making their appearance on the wedding scene. We start with sweet potato or hand spanked buttermilk biscuit (or both if you can’t decide) then give your guests a ton of toppings like pimento cheese, pulled pork, pan gravy, flavored butters, honey, and jam. Let’s just say, it is definitely a crowd pleaser.
Since that is such a hit, let’s just expand… A fun way to start of the night is with a pancake bar for cocktail hour. Serve it with mimosas and signature cocktails like a bourbon-orange smash or a grapefruit and sage fizz. If you want passed hor d’ourves we can do little baby chicken and waffles, cinnamon rolls, or tiny masons filled with shrimp and grits. Once you begin the main course, your guests will be on cloud nine. Don’t forget about having freshly fried donuts as a late night snack. Seriously, does it get any better than that?
My favorite part is that the brinner reception fits right in to Knoxville’s sweet, southern style. Just a taste of the south with a modern and tasty twist.
